Arrival and Departure
When you have paid for you holiday in full, you will be sent details of how to find Bailey Cottage, and where to collect your keys on arrival. It's best to advise us of your estimated arrival time, which should normally be after 2pm and before 4pm. On your day of departure, we ask you to leave your cottage by 10.00am so that it can be cleaned for our next guests.
On Arrival
On arrival you will find clean towels and a welcome pack of bread, butter, cheese, milk and a bottle of wine, a guide to events and places of interest. Tea and coffee will also be provided.
The cottage has front and back gardens where you can sit and enjoy the peace. There is also off-road parking and a shed if required for bikes. A gas-fired BBQ is also available in the back garden.
Cleaning
The cottage is cleaned thoroughly between guests, meaning that all you need to do when you arrive is unpack, put the kettle on and explore the cottage. There is no extra charge for this service unless extra heavy cleaning is required after you leave, or you do not leave the property and it's contents as you find them.
It's worth remembering that the cottage is situated in a rural location, and that many of the locals earn their living nearby. Country hours can start early in the morning and run late into the night, so please be patient when it comes to countryside sounds and scents - it's all part of being in the country after all.
We are sorry, but in order to provide the high standard of decoration and furnishing to all our guests, we operate the following policies:
- Pets are not allowed, and
- no smoking is permitted in the cottage.
Caring for your safety
The cottage is well maintained for your comfort and safety. Nevertheless, please remember that when you are in unfamiliar surroundings and you must take special care of yourself and your family. In particular:
- Check the layout of the property so that in an emergency you can all get out quickly and easily.
- Check the location of the fire extinguisher and fire blanket, and read the instructions on their use.
- If you are unsure of how to use the any electrical appliances please ask us.
- The night storage heaters must never be covered
- Ensure that children cannot access the garden shed.
- We want you to have a safe and happy holiday - a few minutes taking some simple precautions could make the difference between a holiday enjoyed and a holiday spoilt
Payment & Deposit
Bookings made more than 56 days in advance will be subject to a 20% deposit. Payment of remaining 80% will become due 56 days prior to entry.
Bookings made less than 56 days in advance will require payment to be made in full.
Bookings will be confirmed following receipt of deposit or full payment (see above). At this point on-line availability will be updated to show booking.
All bookings will also be subject to a £50 damages deposit, which will be refunded by cheque during the week following departure.
Cancellations
There will be no refund if you cancel your booking within 20 days of your planned arrival.
Cancellations made between 21 and 40 days prior to arrival will receive a 25% refund.
Cancellations made between 41 and 55 days prior to arrival will receive a 50% refund.
All cancellations will be refunded their £50 damages deposit.
All refunds will be made by cheque. |
